The Western Springs project was an exciting one for us because it pushed us out of our more traditional comfort zone. Last spring, our clients showed us photos of very contemporary kitchens for inspiration and Christina and I both sat there a little stumped about which direction we wanted to go in. We went back and forth for a while on this project, with a lot of brainstorming about how to blend the modern with the traditional. We launched the idea for the kitchen with a natural walnut island to bring warmth and interest to the space and then built the concept around that. In the end, everyone was happy with the outcome!
