Things are moving along quickly with our studio barn project in Colorado! The barn is the studio space for Tieghan over at Half Baked Harvest, and it’s in the mountains of Colorado, outside of Denver.
Tieghan and her Mom have been so wonderful to work with and this project has been a fun one for us because the concept is so unique and so different from the homes that we typically work on. We’re looking forward to heading out there and seeing the progress!
For the kitchen, we wanted to achieve a rustic feel, but still keep a few modern touches. The kitchen cabinets are going to be dark, with an antique inspired wood island and light square rice paper tile. Tieghan is a food blogger so we wanted to incorporate a wood burning pizza oven into the kitchen as well, which will be finished in stucco to give it a simple, rustic look.
The powder room is going to have dark wood walls, a floating vanity and a wall mounted faucet that has exposed fittings. With all of these rustic elements, we wanted to contrast a little bit with a fancier chandelier for the lighting.
Here is the mood board so far, which gives you a better idea of how all of the elements will work together:
And the progress on the barn:
There is more to come of course, we will be heading out there soon and will be posting updates on Intagram. Stay tuned!
