One of our favorite things to do is to look for art for clients. We come across so many talented artists and get so excited about their work that we need to share our discoveries. And it becomes even more exciting when we have the opportunity to meet and know the artist and to hear the story behind the piece.
I’ll never forget years ago going to a good friend, Michael T. Noonan’s, condo and seeing the most unusual and amazing work of art hanging above his sofa.
It was love at first sight for me — when I asked him where he got it, he smiled and admitted that it was actually a photograph that he had taken while on a trip. I was so impressed and instantly needed to know how he had manipulated the picture to look like it did.
Michael explained that is was the way he captured the water in the moment that showed how it was reflecting color from the scenery around it, thus creating these beautiful pieces of art — amazing! He captures the water all over the world as he travels around to places like Turkey, Finland, France, Thailand, Greece, and many other exciting destinations.
“His work traverses temporal conditions of day and night, chaos and calmness, color and light – all with a unifying beauty using abstractions of water as a universal and essential element.”
I have tried, many times, to try and capture the beauty in bodies of water as he does….I cannot it! They are all unique and true works of art.
